Starting from the frame, the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 is larger in every direction. It has a longer wheelbase and cab that result in nearly 3 inches more rear legroom and more hauling capability. The scratch- and corrosion-resistant carbon-fiber cargo box is features LED lighting and 12 fixed cargo tie-downs rated at 500 pounds per corner.
Loading just got easier with the MultiPro Tailgate that opens in six different ways to accommodate varying needs. The two-stage gate folds down in two parts. First, the top gate folds parallel to the ground with just the upper half of the door so you could use it as a standing workstation or as an easier way to get to items into the bed. Fold down the rest of the tailgate and lower the inner gate for a step into the bed that holds up to 375 pounds. Or use the gate in this position as a seat with a footrest after a long day on the job. Lastly, you could fold up the upper half of the gate so it looks like a regular tailgate again, but keep the inner gate open to act as a stopper for extra-long cargo.

The Sierra 1500 configurations include regular-, double-, and crew-cab body styles and all are available with two- or four-wheel drive. The regular-cab models come exclusively with an 8-foot box, while the double-cab models are available with a 6-foot-6-inch box. The crew-cab models are available with a 5-foot-8-inch box or the 6-foot-6-inch box.
